“We’ve nailed ‘em twice in a row! And they have no idea where we are!” Someone on the Slicer 9-formerly known as the ‘S.E.N’s ship’-cheered. “If we keep this up, they’ll be begging for mercy in no time,” Dib added, grinning.
Needless to say, after the second hit, the Irkens were once again thrown around and even more disoriented. When the Tallest had recomposed themselves, they, along with everyone else, stared out into the vastness of space. Nothing was to be seen however except the stars and other planetary matter. “What was that?” Red finally said, though his words were barely audible. Purple heard him anyway. “I don’t know, but it came from that general direction…,” he said raising his arm up and slowly pointing it toward where he thought the lasers were fired from. Red regained his er…loudness and said, “They’re obviously cloaked. Before it happens again, fire a few lasers where Purple is pointing and see if we get a hit!” This being said, Red’s command was followed and a laser shot out toward the area Purple was pointing. Unfortunately, nothing came of it and they had missed the Slicer by seven feet.
“That was close,” Dib said. “Um, did I forget to mention that they have a slight advantage over us?” “Of course they do! They’re aliens Mothman! It’s not important anyhow; as long as they’re unaware of our position, we have the upper hand. Now fire!” A third laser was sent to the Massive.
This time the Irkens saw it coming. The Massive veered to the left and dodged the beam completely. They immediately fired back and made a hit at long last. “Ha! I think we got them that time!” Purple whooped.
The Slicer then had its turn of being shaken. The agents were shocked that the Irkens had gotten them after only two attempts. They didn’t have a chance to retaliate as the Massive struck again...and again…and again…They didn’t always hit their target, but it wasn’t long before it’d be a whole lot easier.
